ABOUT THIS SITE !!!
The original owner of this site name, let the registration expire.
First: about expired domains.
Website addresses have to be registered, and yearly fees of about $10 need to be paid to keep ownership of the name (more commonly called "domain name")
When the next payment term comes up, almost every registration company goes out of their way to remind you that money is due... email and letters.
If you do not pay for these fees and the term expires, the domain name becomes available to others.
It seems in most cases expired domain names go one of 3 ways...
1) An advertising company takes over the name, and puts tons of links to other sites.
2) A "squatter" takes it over, and holds on to the domain name. They then can resell the name for the highest price.
3) A porn company takes it over.
So... back to BellmawrWaterfront.com specifically.
I frequently search on Bellmawr when I am bored, to find new information and ideas to blog.
In one of my searches, I found that BellmawrWaterfront.com was expiring soon. Meaning, money was owed to keep it active.
BTW: I also noticed the developer's own company site, Develcom was expiring.
So... for no other reason than thinking it was funny, or maybe saving the site from turning into a porn site, I used a feature at GoDaddy called "Backordering". When a domain expires, they will try to register for the new person. For me it was a 2 minute process to request "backordering"
Even after BellmawrWaterfront.com expired, they sent me emails saying "The prior owner has more time to pay the bill"
I let it ride.
Sure enough, no one at Develcom did anything, and the BellmawrWaterfront.com domain was transferred to me.
I think it cost me $12.
Still... months later... no one has reached out to me, even with my contact info readily available.
And you'll see that even the Develcom.org company site is gone.
So, my band and sports website appreciates the advertising on the Trailer located at Creek Rd.
:-)
Feel free to register (as I see people are), but currently there is no other content here.
Maybe I'll grab links to all of my old landfill project blogs and post here?!
